Savory Ball Rolls

Remove sun-dried tomatoes from the oil, pat briefly dry if needed and chop finely. Cut the bacon into small cubes.

Mix flour, a pinch of sugar, dry yeast, salt, pepper, oregano and finely chopped rosemary in a bowl. Add egg, milk and olive oil and knead everything into a smooth dough.

Add the tomatoes and bacon to the dough and knead briefly until evenly distributed.

Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes, until it has visibly increased in volume.

Briefly knead the dough again, divide into about 10 equal portions and shape into balls. Place them on a greased baking sheet.

Cover the dough balls and let them rise in a warm place for another 10 minutes.

Brush the rolls with warm water.

Place the baking sheet in the cold oven and bake the rolls with fan at 180°C (conventional oven 200°C) for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.

Let the rolls cool briefly and serve best warm; they also taste good cold.
