Spiced Stars

Preheat the oven to 160°C fan (180°C conventional) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Beat the softened butter in a bowl with a hand mixer until creamy.

Gradually add the brown sugar, salt and the egg, mixing until smooth.

Stir in the cinnamon, gingerbread spice, ground ginger and the Obstler.

Mix the flour, cornstarch and baking powder and sift them into the bowl.

Stir in about half of the flour mixture, then briefly work in the rest with the dough hooks until a firm, non-sticky dough forms.

Roll the dough out on a floured surface to about 5 mm thickness and cut out stars.

Place the stars on the prepared baking sheets with some space between them.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes until the stars are lightly golden.

Let the spiced stars cool completely.

Melt the chocolate glaze according to the package instructions, decorate the stars with lines and immediately sprinkle with chopped pistachios.
