Quark Mice

In a bowl, stir the quark, egg, sugar, vanilla sugar and rum until smooth.

Mix the flour and baking powder in a second bowl.

Add the flour mixture to the quark mixture and quickly knead into a soft, slightly sticky dough.

Heat about 1 liter of oil in a pot to approx. 180 °C.

Use two teaspoons to scoop small dumplings and fry them in batches, floating in the hot oil, until golden brown.

Lift the quark 'mice' out with a slotted spoon and let them drain on kitchen paper.

Dust with powdered sugar and serve preferably fresh.
