Advent Braid

Preheat the oven to 150°C fan (conventional oven: 175°C) and generously grease a braid pan.

In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ground cloves, nutmeg and chopped walnuts well.

Lightly beat the egg and mix it with the sugar, oil and sour cream until smooth.

Fold the flour mixture into the egg mixture and stir only until the dry ingredients are just moistened.

Pour the batter into the prepared braid pan and smooth the surface.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes and cover with baking paper after about 30 minutes.

Let the braid rest in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it and cool on a wire rack.

Before serving, dust with powdered sugar.
