Strawberries with Mascarpone

Cut very ripe strawberries only shortly before marinating to reduce juice loss.

Depending on the sweetness of the strawberries, you can add 1–2 tbsp powdered sugar directly to the marinade.

For an especially smooth cream, let the mascarpone sit briefly at room temperature before stirring.

Set aside a few particularly nice strawberry pieces for the top layer.

If a lot of marinade has formed, you can drizzle it sparingly over the layers so it doesn't become too runny.

The dessert tastes best well chilled after 1–2 hours of resting time.
