Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies

Preheat the oven to fan 160°C (conventional 180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream the soft butter with the sugar, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt.

Add the egg and stir in for about 30 seconds until the mixture is homogeneous.

Mix the flour with the baking powder and coarsely grated hazelnuts in a bowl.

Briefly stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture, only until no dry flour is visible.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Use two teaspoons to place small mounds of dough on the sheet and leave enough space, as the cookies will spread while baking.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden brown.

Let the cookies cool briefly on the sheet and then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
