Chocolate Balls

Put flour, finely ground almonds, cocoa powder and sugar into a bowl. Add cold butter cut into pieces, add the egg and almond extract and quickly knead everything into a smooth dough.

Cover the dough and chill it in the refrigerator.

Preheat the oven to 150 °C fan (electric oven 175 °C) and line one or two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Shape walnut-sized balls from the dough and place them on a cold surface ready to use.

Press a depression into each ball with the handle of a wooden spoon.

Place the shaped balls back in the refrigerator for a short time.

Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 12–15 minutes.

Remove the cookies from the baking sheet and let them cool completely on a wire rack.

Coarsely chop the milk chocolate and melt it in a hot water bath.

Put a dollop of chocolate into the indentations and let the chocolate balls cool completely.
