Best to beat briefly with a whisk or hand mixer so the mixture becomes nicely homogeneous.

For a 1‑liter ice cream machine, usually only about 600 g of liquid fit in one batch.

Don’t cut the chocolate pieces too small so they still give a nice 'crunch' in the ice cream.

Add the chocolate only at the end so it doesn't melt completely and distributes better.

If you don't have an ice cream maker, whip the cream to stiff peaks and gently fold it into the mixture at the end; then mix in the chocolate pieces and freeze in the freezer, stirring occasionally.
