Halloween Spider Muffins

Preheat the oven to 150°C fan (175°C conventional) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

Melt 150 g of chocolate in a warm water bath and roughly chop the remaining chocolate.

Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl until frothy.

Add the sugar, oil, cream and melted chocolate to the egg mixture and stir briefly until smooth.

Combine the flour and baking powder, add them along with the chopped chocolate to the batter and fold in briefly.

Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.

Bake the muffins for 25–30 minutes, until cooked through.

Let the muffins rest in the tin for 5 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.

Decorate as desired, for example with chocolate glaze and spider legs made from chocolate or sugar decorations.
