Stracciatella Ice Cream

Thoroughly whisk milk, cream, egg yolks and sugar together in a bowl and add a small pinch of salt.

Freeze the mixture in the ice cream maker (1 L capacity, about 600 g of liquid) or alternatively pour it into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer until it thickens noticeably.

As soon as the ice cream starts to set, fold in the chocolate shavings and continue freezing until the desired consistency is reached.

Spoon the stracciatella ice cream into dessert glasses and serve garnished as desired.
