Privacy Policy of backecke.com
1. Introduction
backecke.com is a project of Sixpol Electronics OHG. We respect your privacy and process your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the applicable Italian data protection laws. This privacy policy explains which data we process, for what purposes we do so, and which rights you have.
2. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Sixpol Electronics OHG – Project backecke.com
Full contact details can be found in the Imprint.
3. Which data we process
We only process data that is technically and substantively necessary to provide this website and its features.
3.1 When accessing the website (log and access data)
When you visit our pages, the web server automatically processes the following information:
• IP address (shortened/anonymized where technically possible)
• date and time of the request
• requested URL and subpages
• amount of data transferred and HTTP status code
• referrer URL (the previously visited page, if provided by the browser)
• browser type and version, operating system, language settings
• internal session ID (technical session cookie)
3.2 User account / registration / login
If you create an account or log in, we additionally process:
• account information (username, email address)
• access credentials (password – stored only as a secure hash, not in plain text)
• optional profile data and settings (e. g. favourites, submitted recipes)
• technical login data (time, internal user ID, success/failure attempts)
3.3 Communication
If you contact us via contact forms or email, the information you provide (e. g. name, email address, message content) is processed in order to respond to your request.
4. Purposes and legal bases of processing
We process your data for the following purposes:
• providing the website, its features and content (e. g. recipes, search functions)
• registration and management of user accounts (including “Stay logged in”)
• ensuring stability and security (e. g. error analysis, abuse and attack detection)
• internal reach measurement and statistical analysis (which pages are used and how often)
• responding to contact requests
The legal bases for processing include in particular:
• Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR – performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (e. g. registration, login, managing your account).
• Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interests (e. g. secure and stable provision of the website, internal reach measurement, abuse and attack detection).
• Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent (e. g. if you voluntarily activate the “Stay logged in” feature or send us additional optional information).
5. Cookies and similar technologies
On backecke.com we primarily use technically necessary cookies and – only if you explicitly want it – a login cookie for the “Stay logged in” feature. We do not use cookies for external advertising services or third-party tracking providers.
5.1 Technically necessary cookies
Technically necessary cookies are required for operating our website and for using its core functions. These cookies cannot be disabled without making essential functions unavailable.
Typical technically necessary cookies we use include:
Name / Type Purpose Storage period
Session cookie (e. g. PHPSESSID or a project-specific name) Establishing and maintaining a user session (e. g. remembering login during the visit, temporarily storing form states). Only for the current session (until you close the browser).
Internal technical cookies Technical control of the website (e. g. language settings, protection mechanisms, load balancing). Names and contents are purely technical and are evaluated exclusively by us. Typically session-based or a few days, depending on purpose.
5.2 “Stay logged in” (persistent login cookie)
When you log in, you can optionally activate the “Stay logged in” feature. In this case, we store a persistent login cookie on the device used, which automatically recognises you on later visits, so you do not have to enter your credentials again.
For this purpose we use, among others, the following cookies:
Name Purpose Storage period
login_uid Stores an internal identifier of your user account for automatic login. Up to a few weeks/months or until you actively log out.
login_pwd, login_pwdc Technical key to verify the persistent login. The actual password is not stored in plain text. Up to a few weeks/months or until you actively log out.
These cookies are only set if you enable the “Stay logged in” checkbox. You can end the feature at any time by logging out via “Logout”. When you log out, these login cookies are actively deleted.
For security reasons, we recommend not using the “Stay logged in” feature on publicly accessible or shared devices.
6. Internal statistics and reach measurement (server-side logs & Matomo)
We want to understand which content is used and how often, in order to optimise backecke.com technically and develop content in a meaningful way. For this we use:
6.1 Server-side statistics / log analysis
In addition to the log data described in section 3.1, we maintain internal statistics in our own database (e. g. tables such as stats_site and similar counters). Typically, the following information is stored:
• accessed page / recipe
• time of access
• internal session ID
• (pseudonymised) IP address and hostname
• referrer URL (if transmitted)
• possibly internal user ID if you are logged in

The evaluation takes place exclusively on our own servers and serves technical monitoring, error analysis and anonymised reach measurement. No data is passed on to third parties and no profiling across different websites takes place. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing our online offering securely and economically (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6.2 Matomo (self-hosted, optional)
If we use Matomo, we operate Matomo exclusively on our own servers (“self-hosted”) and not as a service from an external provider. The evaluation is therefore fully under our control.

Matomo is configured by us so that:
• IP addresses are processed only in shortened form,
• no profiling across different websites takes place,
• no data is transferred to advertising networks or other third parties,
• and Matomo can optionally be operated without cookies (cookieless tracking).

In our preferred configuration (cookieless, IP anonymisation, exclusively on our own domain), the use is based on our legitimate interest in anonymised reach measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). In this case, no additional cookie banner is required; however, we inform you transparently in this privacy policy about the processing.
7. Embedded content and external links
Our website may contain links to external third-party websites (e. g. manufacturer pages, information sources or social media profiles). If you follow such a link, you leave our website. The respective operator is solely responsible for processing your data on these external sites.
We recommend that you read the privacy policies of each external website before providing personal data there. When accessing external pages, your IP address, browser information and other technical data may be transferred to the respective provider.
8. Recipients of data / disclosure
Your personal data will only be transferred to third parties if:
• this is necessary to fulfil our contractual obligations,
• we are legally obliged to do so,
• you have expressly consented, or
• disclosure is permitted on the basis of our legitimate interest (e. g. to technical service providers who support us in operating the website).
All service providers are carefully selected and process data either only on our instructions (data processing agreement) or as independent controllers with their own data protection responsibility.
9. Storage period
In principle, we store personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purposes or as long as we are legally obliged to do so.
This means, for example:
• log and statistical data for security and technical error analysis is typically deleted or anonymised after a few weeks to months.
• we store your user account data as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, the associated personal data will be deleted or, where legally required, blocked.
• communication data (e. g. contact requests) is retained as long as necessary to process the request and for any follow-up questions.
10. Your rights
You have the following rights with regard to your personal data:
• right of access to the data stored by us
• right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
• right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”), insofar as no statutory retention obligations conflict
• right to restriction of processing
• right to data portability in a commonly used, machine-readable format
• right to object to processing based on legitimate interest
• right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future
To exercise these rights, you can contact us at any time via the contact details provided in the Imprint. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law.
11. Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy if technical or legal conditions change or if new functions are added to backecke.com. The current version is available at any time via this page.
12. Contact
If you have questions about data protection on backecke.com or would like to exercise any of your rights, you can contact us at any time. Contact details can be found in the Imprint.
